Distance Course Frequently Asked Questions
Once I receive my package, what is the time limit to complete the training?
There is no time limit. You can learn at your own speed and become Phil Ackland Certified when you feel ready. However, updated material may need to be purchased after three years.
Do I have to send in all my Crew Leader Applications at once?
No. Your Crew Leaders can apply one at a time or at the same time.
How long is my Certification good for?
Your certification is good for three years. This time period starts when it is determined that you passed the exam.
What happens when my Certification expires?
We will notify you by mail/email of your upcoming expiration date. There is a fee of $150 US per person, a short online quiz (26 questions) and you will be required to update any necessary paperwork.
Do I have to join an association?
No. However, Phil Ackland Certification is recognized by PWNA. We encourage participation in trade associations.
Do I have to be in business or have a company to purchase this Distance Certification Package?
No. You can purchase a Distance Course and learn using the manuals and videos. Once you are ready and have all the requirements you can send in the Company information.
Do I have to have field experience to become a Phil Ackland Certified Crew Leader?
Yes. However, if you do not, you can still apply and will be granted Interim Certification, which is good for one year.
What is the difference between Full Certification and Interim Certification?
Experience. Full Certification requires that you have completed at least 10 cleaning jobs. It also assumes that you are going to continue to learn as you gain experience, by applying what you've learned in your Phil Ackland training.
If I have Crew Leader Certification and go to work for another company, am I still Phil Ackland Certified?
Only if the new Company can supply all the necessary paperwork. There is a $150.00 US fee to update your Certification to the new Company, and you will be issued a new certificate.
